Difinations.
1. Lobby: a larg hall inside the entrance of a building.
2. Bouquet: a group of flower given to someone as a present of carried at a formal accasion.
3. Flattery: a flattering compliment or speech; excessive, insincere praise.
4. Merits: something that deserves or justifies a reward or commendation; a commendable quality, act, etc.: The book's only merit is its sincerity.
5. Foundation: the basis of something such as a theory or an idea.
6. Confucius: to make somebody unable to think or reason clearly or act sensibly
7. Gratitude: a feeling of being thankful to- somebody for doing something.
8. Stuggling: a supporting timber in a mine or mineshaft.
9. Mooncakes: somebody regarded as unintelligent or thoughtless.
10. Carnations: a perennial plant of the pink family. Flowers: fragrant white, pink, or red with fringed petals, often smelling of cloves.

But china gratitude for & pride in teacher is obvious.
The reson for all the pomp & flattery is out of historical respect for teachers.
